The U15 Rovers had their most successful effort to date at the Charlotte Inviational tournament this past weekend. Fresh from their success in winning Classic III last season, they comfortably won their first game against CSA Cabarrus Elite 7-0 and then had a 4-0 win against Palmetto United Boys Gold. After a strong performance against Discoveries 95 in the semi-final and a 5-0 win, including a penalty save by Paul Smoak they came up against a very strong and skillful Norcross Fury Gold who Classic I last season. After Rovers had a goal by Omar Govea disallowed, Norcross went on to score, having dominated the first half. In the second half the Rovers took over control of the game but struggled to score. After Norcross scored again late in the game, Rovers managed to pull back a goal, finishing the game with a strong performance and a 2-1 loss to finish runner up.
