and the carnival right around the corner

The Divas were determined to

make sure the Kellers were

going to get to go!

The Diamond Divas  versus the Comets! This game was set to be the biggest Intergalactic battle of

the year. As we all remember in our first meeting with the Comets  we were faced  with a disappointing loss due to a lightning stike  that cut the game short. That would not be the case today, the soccer God was smiling down upon us sending us

a sign from the heavens.  Right above the field was the shape of a diamond in the middle of the exhaust of jets that flew over just minutes before.   We knew right then that it was going to be a clear day to watch the Comets come crashing down to Earth.  It didn’t take long for the vision to come true. Just a couple of minutes into the game Haley’s  Comet   went

crashing into the backside of the net giving the Divas the early lead. The Comets tried to penetrate our Diva atmosphere but with all the different layers

of defense like the Kaylasphere, Maggiesphere and the Tianasphere it was impenetrable. Our defense had cleared a Comet shot and sent it flying

towards Haley who took it through the Comet’s galaxy and sent #2 into the goal giving the Divas the lead 2-0. Intermission/ Halftime. WOW! these

analogies are tough to come by. The 2nd half went about the same as the 1st with the Divas dominating the entire field. The Comets managed to slip

one through our defense and scored at the beginning of the half, 2-1 Divas. At the next face off, Becca raced down the field and it literally looked as if

the Comets were in suspended animation as Becca slipped a pass to Caroline and she placed a well shot heater in the back of the net. 3-1 Divas. As

our solid defense stood their ground Becca got control of the ball and drove it down the field and scored the "I get to go to the carnival shot" giving the

Divas a 4-1 lead. The Divas once again went on the attack and they seemed to have some sort of gravitation field between their feet and

the ball. The Comets could not get the ball from the grips of the Divas. They were stunned to see Haley’s Comet once again. They thought it

only came around once every 75 years. They got the rear lifetime experience of seeing it 3 times in an hour. Haley hit another perfectly

placed kick in the net making the final score Divas 5 - Comets 1.
