The U/17 Shockers, a mixture of the best U/16 and U/17 players, have reached the final and semi-final of the US Club Regionals (narrowly missing out on Nationals), won the Senior Cup College Showcase, the Girls ’Rock’ Tournament and now the Labor Day Shootout all within the last 15 months. On their way to the final the teams beat Jacksonville Jaguars 1-0, Lady Fury 2-1 and in the semi-final they beat Westside Lady Eagles U/19’s 1-0. In the final they had to meet Jacksonville Jaguars again who upset the odds by beating CFC Redstar U/19 Black after extra time. The Shockers ’93/94’s took a commanding position in the final when they raced away to a 3-0 lead early in the second half. After missing a host of 1 v 1 chances with the opposition GK and some other golden chances the Shockers were made to work a little harder than they should have when the Jaguars scored to late long range goals to set up a tense last couple minutes. "It was great to see Baley Jackson and Carrie West back on form with four goals and three goals respectively, hopefully this will bold well for the season". said team coach Gary Wright. "It really was a tremendous team effort during the whole weekend though, and each of the players deserves a tremendous amout of credit for their effort, performance and character that was shown" added Wright.
